Kendal Clinic is a group practice in Bloomfield Hills, MI that offers psychotherapy, psychological testing, and medication management all under one roof. Their previous website no longer met their needs, so they came to us for a redesign that would simplify booking appointments online and improve overall usability.

The Details
Highlighting Their Competitive Advantage
Kendal Clinic’s tagline, “An Integrative Approach to Mental Wellness,” captures their unique approach of offering therapy, testing, and medication management in one place. However, this message wasn’t coming through on their old site.
In the redesign, we highlighted the three approaches prominently in the homepage hero banner and organized their services into these three categories—repeated throughout the homepage and in the custom main menu—to ensure visitors could quickly understand their integrative model right away.
Ensuring Privacy and HIPAA Compliance
Because their site needed to collect sensitive patient information, HIPAA compliance was a top priority. We integrated JotForm to securely handle forms like Medication Refill Requests and Requests for Services, ensuring all protected health information (PHI) was transmitted safely.
We also ensured that their website had all of the necessary website policies in place. From privacy policies, terms of service, and even a cookie consent banner that only pops up in locations that require a banner.
We communicated their competitive advantage in words and through design.
Improving Usability and Functionality
With a large team of therapists, finding the right provider was often overwhelming for visitors. To solve this, we built a filter feature on the Request an Appointment page, allowing users to sort therapists by specialization (therapy, testing, or medication management) and accepted insurance. We also connected their TherapyNotes EHR system in the least amount of clicks possible so patients could seamlessly complete scheduling online.

Outcome
Just one month after launch, organic search traffic to Kendal Clinic’s website increased by 46%! Not only were more people finding them through search, but the site also saw a 14% boost in both average engagement time and sessions per user. This showed that the new site was not only attracting more visitors but also keeping them engaged!
